easyDCP Player is an industry-leading software application developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS designed for the real-time playback, review, and quality assurance of Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) and Interoperable Master Format (IMF) packages on standard Mac and Windows PCs.
It serves as a critical bridge for filmmakers, post-production studios, and distributors to thoroughly check cinema content before it is distributed or projected in commercial theaters. Core Capabilities
Real-Time Decoding: Employs an advanced software codec capable of real-time JPEG 2000 decoding. It seamlessly plays back 2K and 4K cinema packages in both 2D and stereoscopic 3D.
Encrypted Playback: Through the easyDCP Player+ variant, users can ingest Key Delivery Messages (KDMs) to decrypt and play securely protected cinema packages.
Advanced Audio Support: Handles standard stereo (2.0) up to 7.1 surround sound audio tracks, as well as immersive cinematic audio formats like Dolby Atmos and Immersive Audio Bitstream (IAB).
Subtitle Management: Allows users to preview, arrange, and visualize Interop and SMPTE subtitles. It features drag-and-drop support for temporary external subtitle files and can burn subtitles directly into the video for review proxies.
Format Conversion & Export: Enables users to transcode DCP content or export audio, video, and timed text into standard post-production formats.
